Mission Hills Country Club in Kanchanaburi is one of three Jack Nicklaus-designed Mission Hills golf courses in Thailand, alongside Khao Yai Golf Club and Mission Hills Phuket. Set amidst natural surroundings on a gently sloping hillside, the course features fairways lined with mature palms and employs water, sand, trees, and Nicklaus’ signature waste bunkers as hazards.

Playing to your handicap here is a true test of skill. Steer clear of the thick Bermuda grass near the bunkers to avoid double bogeys. Five holes offer double fairways, providing different approaches to the green. The course includes five well-spaced sets of tees, accommodating players of all skill levels.

The par-5 holes stand out as some of the best on the course. The 8th hole, for example, is long and well-bunkered along the left side and center of the fairway, with a beautiful stretch of water and reeds running from tee to green on the right side. The 12th hole features a wide creek splitting the fairway from tee to green, with a double fairway allowing players to choose left or right off the tee, though the stream often claims its fair share of victims. The 17th hole, a par-4, demands a strategic approach shot to an island green.

Surrounded by jungle-clad hills and rural countryside, this Kanchanaburi golf course offers a scenic experience. The large timber-clad clubhouse provides a decent spot for a bite, though the on-site golf resort’s accommodations are average at best.
