Evergreen Hills Golf Club & Resort

Evergreen Hills Golf Club & Resort is nestled in a heavily wooded highland valley in Kanchanaburi province, close to the Burmese border. This location offers a milder climate with generally pleasant and cooler temperatures compared to other regions in Thailand.

Situated an hour south of Kanchanaburi and approximately 1.5 hours north of Hua Hin, this Thai golf resort is frequented mainly by locals and expatriates. However, it is a hidden gem well worth a visit for foreign golfers seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience. The course is well-designed, and its condition is remarkable for such a remote location. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are meticulously maintained, and several Thai professional golf events have been hosted here.

The 18-hole, par-72 course, designed by At-anan Yomchinda, opened in 1994. Spanning 6,879 yards, it provides a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The fairways are narrow, lined with 18 different species of trees, and many of the greens feature steep slopes. Bunkers are strategically placed on most holes, rewarding accuracy over length.

The most challenging holes are the 16th and 17th, both featuring water-surrounded island greens. Hole 17, a par-4, is also one of several tricky doglegs with water hazards encroaching on both sides.

While the golf course is exceptional, the clubhouse, on-site resort, and other facilities are more suited to local visitors. International golfers might prefer to stay elsewhere while enjoying the course. The staff, primarily local, may not be fluent in English, but they offer service with a smile.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Evergreen Hills is a must-visit for anyone in Kanchanaburi and even for those in Hua Hin seeking a unique golfing experience. The course is maintained to high standards and features numerous natural obstacles in a picturesque countryside setting.
