Designed by Dennis Griffiths, the architect behind Thai Country Club in Bangkok, Summit Green Valley Golf Club stands as one of the best-maintained courses in Chiang Mai. Located in the lowlands, just a 20-minute drive from the city center, it offers a serene environment with fresh air and diverse native landscaping unique to Northern Thailand. The course is adorned with hundreds of palm trees and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Summit Green Valley is the second golf course owned by the Summit Group, following Summit Windmill in Bangkok.

Playing at Summit Green Valley is challenging, especially from the back tees at 7200 yards. The course features numerous strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards on nearly every hole. While the fairways appear wide, their effective width is reduced by these hazards, demanding precision from golfers. The greens are large and receptive, with a moderate to fast putting speed. The course’s length, elevation changes, and prevailing winds create a tough but fair test for players of all skill levels.

One of the standout holes is the 416-yard par-4 9th. The tee shot requires a carry over water, with sand traps flanking the landing area. The second shot must also cross water to reach an elevated island green surrounded by tall palm trees.

The clubhouse at Summit Green Valley offers comprehensive amenities, including a well-stocked pro shop, dining and refreshment areas, locker room facilities, and massage services, all supported by a polite and professional staff.
