Krung Kavee Golf Course, designed by Manabu Sakamoto, is conveniently located near Don Muang Airport within a private housing estate. Known for his preference for long courses, Sakamoto has designed over 40 championship courses worldwide. Krung Kavee stands out for its commitment to ‘green’ maintenance, avoiding environmentally harmful pesticides and herbicides, and featuring an advanced sub-surface drainage system to prevent standing water even during Bangkok’s rainy season.
The course offers a mix of natural and man-made water hazards, including an island green Par 3 accessible to players of all levels. With four sets of tees, the course presents a variety of challenges, notably the demanding par-four holes 6, 7, and 8, which are lengthy even from the forward tees. The greens are flat, fast, and true, with numerous lateral water hazards and significant water carries.
The upmarket clubhouse provides panoramic views of the course, and the locker rooms and shower facilities are on par with a 5-star hotel. The Rangsit Kitchen restaurant offers some of Bangkok’s best Thai cuisine, featuring curries, soups, fresh vegetables, and seafood dishes prepared with fresh ingredients.
Krung Kavee delivers an excellent golfing experience with first-class service. While the course could benefit from more elevation changes, it makes the most of its former rice paddy field setting.
